The number of monthly round-trips offered by the ship Qiongsha 3, the main sea transport ship providing supplies for Yongxing Island, Hainan, has increased from 2 to 4 starting on August 25.

The ship Qiongzhou 3, serving as the lifeline for the island, provides a monthly delivery of drinking water, food and other items.

Departing from Qinglan port in Wenchang City, the ship has around 15 hours at sea.

The ship is 84 meters in length and 13.8 meters in width. With a cargo capacity of 2,500 tons, the ship can carry around 250 passengers.

According to some experienced sailors, Qiongsha 3 has been transporting the materials required to establish new city government buildings since 2008. In 2011, the ship travelled between Qinglan and Yongxing 24 times.
