Hainan ranks 4th in China’s green development index

Hainan ranks the 4th in China’s green development index, released by China Green Development Index 2012 in Beijing on August 15.
Beijing tops all 30 cities which take part in the testing, and Tianjing is listed on the second place. The other seven cities within the top ten are Guangzhou, Zhejiang, Qinghai, Yunnan, Fujian, Shanghai and Shandong.
Aside from this Haikou wins the second place in all 38 cities in China in the green development index, following Shenzhen in the first place.
The green development index system consists of three primary indices, namely the greenness of economic growth, the potential of natural resources and environment and the support from government policies.
In recent years, Haikou has attached great importance to environmental protection. The air quality in Haikou has been remaining one of the best among 113 major Chinese cities over the past 22 years.
