Huanyu China-ASEAN Legal Cooperation Center opens in Haikou
Huanyu China-ASEAN Legal Cooperation Center opened in Haikou, south China's Hainan province on March 26.
The center will serve as a bridge among the legal circles of China and the member states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
In order to meet the needs of the fast-growing China-ASEAN Free Trade Area, the China Law Society (CLS) proposed to establish a center for promoting legal cooperation between China and ASEAN countries at the fifth China-ASEAN Forum on Legal Cooperation and Development in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in September 2011, which received enthusiastic support from representatives of the legal circles of China and the ten ASEAN countries.
After detailed research and thorough preparations, CLS-affiliated China Law Center of Academic Exchanges, Beijing Dacheng Law Firm and the Hainan Provincial Arbitration Committee jointly launched the Huanyu China-ASEAN Legal Cooperation Center.
