Tropical storm Vicente approaches Hainan & Guangdong, may land on Mon
Tropical storm Vicente is approaching China’s Hainan and Guangdong provinces, it is forecast to strike China at about 20:00 Beijing Time on 23 July.
Data supplied by the US Navy and Air Force Joint Typhoon Warning Center suggest that the point of landfall will be near Yangjiang in Guangdong province and Lingshui in Hainan province.
Vicente is expected to bring 1-minute maximum sustained winds to the region of around101 km/h (63 mph). Wind gusts in the area may be considerably higher.
At 9:00 on Sunday, the Hainan meteorological observatory issued Level III typhoon emergency response against tropical storm Vicente and urged related departments to take preventive measures.
