On July 7th, the 2012 National Taiwan Youth Summer Camping Tour kicked off at Hainan University with over 32 youths from Taiwan attending the opening ceremony.

 

The National Taiwan Youth Summer Camping Tour covers 27 domestic cities. On July 3rd-7th, over 1,100 youths from Taiwan universities took part in a special summer camp held in Beijing.

 

During the 6 days, the 32 students and teachers went sightseeing in the picturesque Yalong Bay, Tianjia Haijiao Scenic Spot and Luhuitou Park in Sanya, visited the Mangrove Tree Reserve at Dongzhai Port and Hainan Museum in Haikou. In addition, they paid a visit to Taiwan-funded enterprises in Hainan.

 

This summer’s camping tour, based on the theme ‘Discovering China’, aims to provide young people from Taiwan with an opportunity to better understand China in terms of history, culture, ecology, technology, medicine, public health and cross-strait relations. It has been held for 9 years.
