Four Chinese patrol ships have returned to the southern city of Guangzhou after concluding their 13-day mission in the South China Sea.

The crews have travelled more than 2,700 nautical miles since setting sail from Hainan's Sanya in late June. The four ships carried out patrols around Nansha and Zhongsha islands and conducted formation training.
