After many rumours about a possible possible purchase of insolvent German solar company, Q-Cells, Hanergy Holding Group was announced as the buyer for Solibro, a subsidiary of Q-Cells.

Solibro makes thin-film solar panels, according to an emailed statement. A spokeswoman for Hanergy declined to disclose the financial terms of the deal and said a formal announcement would be made early this week.

Hanergy Holding group is a privately held manufacturer of clean energy products and project developer. In March the company announced that it was going into the solar manufacturing business, with a thin-film production line in its plant in Haikou, in the Chinese province of Hainan.
