Hainan taxi driver & passenger pulled to safety from flood waters

A taxi driver and a passenger have been rescued from flood waters in south China’s Hainan Province where they were stranded.

The taxi was being driven across the dam when the gushing waters, triggered by heavy rain, washed the vehicle off the road. Both the driver and passenger got out of the car and clung to a pier in the middle of the raging waters.

The taxi was washed away when floodwaters rose over a dam. Firefighters rescued the passenger after she was pulled downstream by the water. The taxi driver was stranded on a pier before being with use of a crane.

Both the taxi driver and his female passenger escaped unhurt.
