A training programme for Hainan nurses at Nanyang Polytechnic has resulted in 250 changes to the methods used in Hainan hospitals.
It all started with a series of courses for Hainan hospital staff held over one year from March 2008.
They catered to a range of vocations, from senior health officials to nurse educators and specialist nurses.
More than 150 Hainan hospital staff attended the courses, which taught skills such as critical care, operating theatre procedures and emergency nursing. The duration of the course ranged from a week to a couple of months.
