Although 1st May was the last day of the 3-day Labor Day holiday, the tourism surge hasn’t cooled down in Hainan.

Data released by the Hainan Holiday Office shows Haikou Meilan Airport saw 12,313 passengers entered the airport and 12,034 passengers left the airport on 1st May, up 10% and down 7% year on year, respectively. Meanwhile, Sanya Phoenix Airport received 13,810 passengers and sent 15,158 passengers on the same day, up 40% and 10% year on year, respectively.
 
At the 10 sampling scenic spots in Hainan, the visitors’ number reached 46,900 with a total tourism revenue of RMB 4.1603 million. On 1st May, the numbers of tourists in Nanshan scenic spot, Tianya Haijiao, Boao and Tropical Heaven Forest Park reached 12,008, 10,084, 8,300 and 6,200 respectively.
 
Self-driving travel, independent travel and family travel was the main stream of the tourism market during the Labor Day holiday in Hainan. Moreover, local tourists also contributed to spurring tourism surge during the 3-day holiday.
