The reporter learnt from Hainan International Creative Harbor on April 8 that since the opening on April 1, 2011 and after one-year operation, 68 domestic and foreign high-end design enterprises and institutions have settled here so far. More than 1,600 innovative talents gathered in Hainan accordingly, which established the first cultural industry public service platform in Hainan Province and drove the production value of ¥3.26 billion for rear-end industries. The first innovative cultural industry headquarters cluster in Hainan Province formed preliminarily.
 
It is reported that the Hainan International Creative Harbor is the first cultural industry cluster project in Hainan Province with the core of innovation for product, brand and design. It was constructed according to the “One-Harbor and Three-Parks” planning. The total investment for the first and second parks was ¥1.5 billion; while the third park is now in planning and project approval. The First Park was officially in operation on April 1, 2011 which was reconstructed from the original residential compound of Haikou People’s Congress Authority. The Second Park was reconstructed on the original site of the government compound of Longhua District in Haikou. Currently related preparations, such as planning and design, are in progress. 68 enterprises have settled in the two parks.
According to the planning, up to 2015, the entire area will form the general “One-Harbor and Three-Parks” layout and will be a local innovation center and base for patent products’ transformation and purchase specialized in innovation of tourism industry, tropical agriculture and new energy industry. More than 150 cultural creative headquarters will gather here. The service radius will cover the whole Pan Pearl River Delta with the direct annual production value of more than ¥5 billion and driving production value of over ¥60 billion.
