Starbucks plans to open 10 outlets in Hainan over next 2 years
Shi Dongwei, the vice-president of Starbucks China, said on 1st April that Starbucks is expected to open up the Hainan market this year, and will open 10 chain stores in a year.
Residents in Haikou show great interest when the news released that Starbucks will open on the Haikou Qilou Old Street early this year. The Business Development Department of Starbucks is doing market research in Haikou and Sanya, and Hainan residents are expected to taste the authentic coffee made by Starbucks this year, according to Shi.
As a world well-known coffee brand, Starbucks has opened over 570 chain stores in 48 cities across China so far. Shi said the rapid development and the ever-growing consumers need in Hainan gives Starbucks much confidence in Hainan market.
Starbucks will provide Hainan consumers with world-unified products, and open 10 chain stores once it enters the Hainan market. However, they don’t deny that they will develop different tastes to meet consumers’ needs in Hainan.
