Hainan promotes international tourism island in Canada for 1st time
At 6pm local time 19th March, a Hainan tourist delegation held a promotion activity in Vancouver, Canada, the city which is 20 percent Chinese. It’s the first time for Hainan province to promote its international tourism island in Canada.
America and Canada are major tourist source countries for Hainan. In 2011, Hainan had received 42,000 tourists from these two countries. As Hainan holds less promotion activities in North America, its potential visitors are even more.
The promotion activity will help visitors from Canada to know more about Sanya‘s tourism products, and introduce more preferential policies to Canadian tourists.
The big sunshine of Hainan Island is the main factor attracting Canadians, especially in an endless and cold winter, said Hanning from the Consulate-General of the People's Republic of China in Vancouver.
Dozens of travel agencies which mainly operate China’s tours and local media in Vancouver attended this promotion activity.
