Hainan Material Recycling Association founded in Haikou
Hainan Material Recycling Association was founded in Haikou on February 26, 2012. As a nonprofit social organization consisting of legal material-recycling-related enterprises and public institutions and relevant scientific research, education & social groups and individuals, it takes “Advocate green recycling and serve for material enterprises” as the tenet.
The use of renewable resources in Hainan Province is just in the beginning and in weak stage. Compared with renewable resources enterprises outside Hainan Province, those inside are young in competitiveness; therefore Department of Commerce of Hainan Province requires all the local leading enterprises to found the Hainan Material Recycling Association in order to form a trine renewable resources recycling network starting from the overall planning of renewable resources, market statistical investigation and normalization & integration of existing recycling channels of renewable resources and in combination with the development planning of urban construction. The trine network mentioned here takes community recycling site as the base, terminal market as the core and processing & utilization as the purpose.
It is reported that Haikou and Sanya are the pilot cities in China for establishing the renewable resources recycling system. Currently relevant work is carried out orderly in the two cities. Haikou was confirmed as a pilot city for the building of renewable resources recycling system in June, 2009. One sorting center, one scrapped autos disassembly center and 98 recycling sites have been founded as of December, 2011. In addition the information platform of renewable resources has been preliminarily set up. Three renewable resources collecting and distributing centers, one transit station and 66 temporary recycling sites have been set up in Sanya. As one of the pilot cities of the third groups for constructing the renewable resources recycling network, Sanya will seize the day to frame its own pilot embodiments and enhance the building and management of renewable resources.
Li Guoliang (Vice Governor of Hainan Province) and veteran cadre Liu Xuebin also attended the opening ceremony.
