Star rating of 18 hotels in Hainan revoked during 2011 review
The star rating of 18 hotels in Hainan including the 5-star International Asia Pacific Convention Center have been revoked during a review of hotel ratings conducted by the Hainan Provincial Tourist Hotel Star Rating Committee in 2011. Another 16 hotels were ordered to rectify.
There were 209 star-rated hotels in Hainan in 2011, of which 149 passed the annual review. International Asia Pacific Convention Center was stripped of its star rating for failing to complete its reconstruction after 3 years.
The commission suspended the approval for another 16 hotels and required them to make corrections within a time limit, among which 2 were five-star hotels, 13 were four-star, and 1 was three-star.
