Hainan to wipe away old outdoor family-planning adverts this year
Harsh family planning advertisements with sharp tones and scrawl characters on outdoor walls will be erased in Hainan province this year, according to the provincial population and family planning commission, Xinhua reported Tuesday.
The commission will wipe away old outdoor family-planning adverts like "fewer kids, more pigs" and "big punches on violation without mercy" from the walls and publicity billboards in cities, counties and villages.
Instead, warmer slogans such as "fewer and better births, happier life" will be painted.
The provincial commission said the project aims to make family planning slogans more humane and in line with correct language.
