For the most impressive underwater scenery, Baifu Bay is a great choice. Located to the south of Sunny Bay, Baifu Bay is the most prominent destination with a variety of soft corals. Baifu Bay is home to a variety of beautiful marine life. Underwater visibility ranges from 18 to 30 meters, permitting divers to enjoy a plethora of spectacular scenes. The spot is far away from land, making it accessible by boat only.

Dadonghai Beach 大东海

Dadonghai is one of the best places to dive in Sanya. Underwater visibility is from 5 meters to 10 meters. In calm weather between May and September, you’re absolutely guaranteed to see schools of tropical fish, rays, sea turtles, giant clams, and colorful corals in dozens of different forms. The easy access and shallow water make it ideal for beginners.

Sunny Bay is located two miles from the estuary of Yalong Bay, and has a depth of 3 to 15 meters. During the period from April to June, divers are able to see spectacular fish migrations. Sunny Bay is a perfect site for divers of any level.

Wuzhizhou Island 蜈支洲岛

About 30 km due east of Sanya is Wuzhizhou Island. The west and north sides of this island are relatively flat with soft white sandy beaches. The sea water here is extremely clear with a maximum visibility of 27 meters, and is rich in colorful tropical fish.

The coral reefs, which are of different shapes in the seabed of the southern sea area, are well-preserved. This is a great place for diving.

West Island is the largest of a series of small islands off Sanya. The island boasts crystal clear waters with a wide array of marine life and extensive coral reefs. Diving instructors are internationally (PADI) certified, and offer a full range of equipment for rent. Scuba excursions are available from shore or by boat.

Lying within the Yalong Bay National Resort District, this 9 kilometer zone of protected coral reef offers the chance to see some of China’s finest marine life.

There are many activities available here, including reef diving, deep sea diving, seabed walking and semi-submersible sightseeing.
