Clipper 2019-20 Race: Visit Sanya, China heading home

On January 25th, 2020, the “Visit Sanya, China” team took seventh place in the eleven-strong fleet of the Clipper 2019-20 Round-the-world Yacht Race.

The fleet is currently heading towards Sanya in the third leg of the race.

Despite scorching temperatures and water shortages during the voyage, the Sanya Ambassadors maintained positive attitudes, and continued to work together to overcome hardships. They were able to bathe only during occasional rainfall, but still they felt enthusiastic and happy about the voyage.

On January 24th, 2020, they celebrated Chinese New Year by making dumplings together.

Though the weather conditions during the race were challenging, the teams kept working together at every hurdle. On January 27th, 2020, the team members were informed that the arrival and departure ceremonies in Sanya would be simplified due to the 2019-nCoV outbreak. All the team members expressed their support for the decision.

They returned to the intense competition, and continued working to shorten their distance with the leading teams.
