Sanya unveiled its tourism-themed marquee again at the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race village in Albert Dock, Liverpool, England, on July 26th, 2018, nearly one year after the fleet set sail from the dock on August 20th, 2017.
The well-designed marquee showcases Sanya’s beautiful natural scenery, its charming history, and the customs and culture of Sanya’s Li People with displays of Sanya travel brochures, local souvenirs, handcrafted Li brocade, and tourism promotional photos.
After eleven months and more than 40,000 nautical miles, there is just hours left in the final race of the Clipper 2017-18 Round the World Yacht Race. The two teams – Sanya Serenity Coast and Visit Seattle, are gunning for the overall win, which will conclude with a thrilling sprint finish up the River Mersey on July 28th, 2018, towards the Royal Albert Dock.
The Sanya marquee will remain open to visitors until July 29th, 2018. During this period, more than 60,000 visitors from around the world are expected to visit the Albert Dock.
Mr. Tang Sixian, Consulting Director of the Sanya Tourism Development Commission said: “Having a partnership with the Clipper Race helps us to promote the city brand profile and push the development of water sports. More significantly, it will help build up Sanya’s reputation as an international sailing destination and further enhance Hainan’s strategy of building itself as an international tourism consumption center.
