A tourist bus overturned Monday afternoon in south China's Hainan province, killing one person and injuring more than 20 others, local authorities said.
The accident happened around 2:20 p.m. on an expressway in the city of Qionghai. The bus, carrying about 30 passengers, was traveling from the city of Sanya to Haikou.
One passenger died at the scene. Rescuers were swiftly dispatched to the crash site to rescue the injured and send them to a local hospital.
Local police said the crash was caused by the vehicle's high speed and slippery road conditions, as it was raining when the accident occurred.
