Sanya airport leads China in flights recovery in July
Sanya airport ranked first among the domestic airports by size 10 million passengers (per year) in flights recovery in July 2020, according to the VariFlight, an aviation data company based in China.
Boosted by upgraded duty-free policies, the arriving of summer holiday, as well as the active construction of Hainan free trade port, Sanya is recovering one of the hottest tourist destinations in China.

At present, the number of flights and the passengers at Sanya airport have gradually returned to the level of the same period last year despite that the international flights still suspend operation. In July 2020, the total number of domestic flights and passengers carried out through Sanya airport were up by 17.73 percent and 30.28 percent, respectively, when compared to that of June this year.

Since July 19th, 2020, the flight departures and arrivals and passenger throughput at Sanya airport have achieved positive growth day by day. The airport has resumed seven domestic air routes, including Sanya – Ganzhou – Harbin, Sanya – Nantong – Shenyang, Sanya – Wuhan – Shenyang, Sanya – Xiangyang – Tianjin, Sanya – Yangzhou, Sanya – Yichang – Tianjin, and Sanya – Luzhou – Shenyang air routes.
In addition, the Sanya airport also increased the frequency of flights from Sanya to key tourist source cities of Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Nanjing, Zhengzhou and Chongqing this July.
