The 2011 edition of China‘s top 10 Oldest People and China’s top 10 Pairs of Oldest Couples have been recently released.
 
Among the list, 4 pairs of couples aged over a centenary are from Hainan Province, including 3 from Lingao Town and 1 from Wanning City.
 
Besides, Hainan’s oldest female centenarian, Guo Fangji, ranks the 4th on the top 10 list. 
 
According to statistics, Hainan had 1,162 people aged 100 years or older. Lingao Town has the highest concentration of centenarians, with 16 for every 100,000 people, which has surpassed the national standard of over 7 per 100,000, becoming a recognized region of longevity.
