Sanya to build 9 charging & battery-swapping stations for NEVs
Sanya is expanding its new energy vehicles (NEVs) charging infrastructure network to as part of a larger push for NEVs adoption across the city.
Sanya is planning to set up over 1,000 charging piles for new energy vehicles and 9 charging (battery swapping) stations across the city this year.
Currently, Sanya has built 2,788 charging piles for new energy vehicles across the city. Construction on three charging stations at Haipo Bus Station, Yacheng Bus Station and Chunguang Road Parking Lot has begun, and is expected to be completed before the end of this June.
On May 19th, 2020, EDF Changfeng (Sanya) Energy Co., Ltd. inked deals with Blue Valley Smart (Beijing) Energy Technology Co., Ltd. and Beijing Qingxiang Technology Co., Ltd. in Sanya to jointly build a battery swapping station network for new energy vehicles (NEVs) across the city this year.
According to the agreement, phase one of the project will feature four battery swapping stations, which will be located at Sanya Phoenix International Airport, Haitang Bay, Sanya Railway Station, and downtown center.
Construction on the first battery swapping station started in early June. The facility will be operational by the end of that month. The other three stations will be built starting from July and will be operational by the end of the year.
Each battery swapping station will cover a land area of 200 square meters. The battery swapping stations will be capable of installing fully charged batteries in NEVs in less than three minutes.
