Haitang Bay Low-Carbon and Smart Energy Project breaks ground
The Commencement Ceremony for the Sanya Haitang Bay Demonstration Project for Comprehensive Utilization of Low-Carbon and Smart Energy was held in Haitang Bay on May 20th, 2020.
Involving a total investment of RMB 1.26 billion, the project will consist of four energy-processing stations, 38 cooling processing stations, and a 30-kilometer-long cooling pipeline network.
Phase one of construction is expected to commence at the end of 2020. By 2023, all energy stations and pipe networks will be completed. The project will help reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 87,900 tons annually, and will provide cooling services for hotel clusters spread over an area of 4.7 million square meters in Haitang Bay.
The Haitang Bay Low-Carbon and Energy Project, which utilizes multiple clean energy sources, including solar, hydro, electricity, and natural gas, will supply cooling, and hot water to hotels, shopping centers, and households in Haitang Bay.
