China International Travel Service Corporation (CTS), the parent company of China Duty Free Group (CDFG), made the announcement about the stores’ opening.

One of the stores is located at the Nanshan Cultural Tourism Zone; the other is at Mangrove Tree Resort World Sanya Bay.

The duty-free experience store in Mangrove Tree Resort World Sanya Bay covers an area of more than 740 square meters. The store consists of an e-commerce experience area, a product display area, and other functional areas where international first-line brand goods are on display, with professional sales staffs available to give information about Hainan’s offshore duty-free policies.

Currently, there are four duty-free stores in Hainan — one in Sanya’s Haitang Bay, one in the Haikou Airport, one in downtown Haikou Sun Moon Plaza City, and one in Qionghai Bo’ao.

In recent years, CTS has launched a series of duty-free shopping events with a variety of themes, aimed at boosting duty-free spending in Hainan.

CTS will also strengthen the procurement of best-selling products and negotiate with suppliers to create specially themed Hainan products.

Other measures such as enhanced marketing and a strengthening of online sales will be deployed by CTS to promote the upgrade of consumption, in a move to boost the development of Hainan as an international free trade port.
