Pod of dolphins spotted in Sanya’s Yalong Bay recently

A pod of dolphins was spotted in the waters near Yalong Bay, Sanya, recently.

From April 5th to 6th, 2020, Hainan Sanya Marine Police’s ship, Qianzhou, found two pods of dolphins swimming in the waters near Sanya twice during daily patrol in the area under its jurisdiction.

“They were swimming in small groups, and sometimes chasing after each other playfully,” said the officers on the scene, who slowed their watercraft and took photos of the dolphins.

In recent years, the local government has worked to improve management of the coastal ocean environment and inland rivers, making them more inviting places for dolphins and other marine life.
