120 Jack Ma Foundation’s Rural Teachers Award recipients arrived at the Shangri-La’s Sanya Resort and Spa, Hainan on January 5th, 2020.

The Jack Ma Foundation’s 5th Annual Rural Teachers Award Ceremony was held once again at the Shangri-La’s Sanya Resort and Spa, Hainan, on January 6th, 2020.

The award ceremony was held outdoors on the resort’s central lawn on the night of January 6th, 2020. A total of 20 rural school headmasters and 100 rural teachers were awarded the prize for their outstanding service in some of China’s most impoverished and remote areas. The award-winning rural headmasters and teachers came from 24 provinces, cities, and autonomous regions, including Yunnan, Sichuan, Guizhou, Chongqing, Hunan, Shanxi, and Gansu. They were from rural areas and were involved in front-line teaching positions.

The resort’s recreation team staged a special campfire performance dedicated to the teachers at the event.

The successful running of the Jack Ma Foundation Rural Teachers Award Ceremony for the fourth consecutive year showed once again Shangri-La’s Sanya Resort and Spa, Hainan’s capability in hosting large-scale conferences and events.
