Another two Sanya promotion centers — Taichung Promotion Center and Taipei Promotion Center — will open on August 21st and 22nd, respectively. The establishment of these promotion centers in Taiwan will heighten awareness of Sanya’s offerings and increase the number of Taiwanese travelers choosing Sanya as a holiday destination.

Taiwan is the third-largest inbound tourist source market for Sanya, and is also one of Sanya’s important traditional tourist source markets. A total of 84,000 tourists from Taiwan visited Sanya in 2018, a year-on-year increase of 27 percent. As of June this year, the number of Taiwanese tourists traveling in Sanya reached 47,000, up 36.9 percent year-on-year.

Currently, Hainan has opened four air routes linking to Taiwan’s three cities including Taipei, Taichung, and Kaohsiung. These four air routes include a Haikou-Taipei route, a Haikou-Kaohsiung route, a Sanya-Taipei route, and a Sanya-Taichung route. In the future, Sanya will actively increase the frequency of direct flights between Sanya and Kaohsiung with the aim of further expanding Taiwan as a tourist source market.

The Sanya tourism (Taiwan) promotion centers will actively promote the overall quality and services of the cross-strait tourism industry, striving to provide a convenient and comfortable tourism experience for tourists from both sides of the strait.
