Sanya ranks among China’s Top 10 Cities for Leisure Living
Sanya has been included on a list of the “Top 10 Cities for Leisure in China,” according to a report jointly published by the National Academy of Economic Strategy and the Tourism Research Center of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. The report was released on August 5th, 2019.
The evaluation for the ranking included 290 cities in the country, and focused on several aspects, including city image, environment, leisure, and tourism.
Tianya Haijiao Scenic Spot
The Top 10 Cities for Leisure in China were Shanghai, Sanya, Beijing, Zhuhai, Shenzhen, Qingdao, Xiamen, Hangzhou, Xi’an, and Lhasa. Among those cities, eight are located in eastern China and the other two are in western China.
Cities in the eastern region generally do significantly better than those in western regions in terms of city image, leisure, and consumption. When it comes to the leisure environment and space, eastern cities show less competition compared to those in northern and central regions.
Sanya stands out in terms of the development of its leisure economy and leisure industry, along with Zhoushan and Zhuhai cities.
