Sanya awarded ‘Most Desired Destination in Mainland China for Overseas Tourists in 2019’

On June 13th, 2019, the ITE Hong Kong 2019 opened at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Center. A Sanya tourism delegation organized by the Sanya Tourism, Culture, Radio, Television and Sports Bureau attended the travel fair.

On the afternoon of June 13th, Sanya was awarded the title of the “Most Desired Destination in Mainland China for Overseas Tourists in 2019” at the “2019 Belt & Road International Tourism Forum on New Business Opportunities”, due to its unique tourism resources and international-level tourism facilities and services.

Through online voting on the official website of Hong Kong Commercial Newspaper, Sanya beat other 110 tourist destinations in mainland China to win the title, with 112,000 votes out of more than 9 million valid votes.

Sanya enjoys unique geographical advantages. It is rich in natural tourism resources such as rivers, lakes, mountains, springs and pleasant scenery. It boasts some of the nation’s most famous scenic spots such as Tianyahaijiao, Wuzhizhou Island, Luhuitou Park, Nanshan Cultural Tourism Zone, Dongtian Park and other tourism and cultural sites. Sanya has plenty of tropical sunshine, pristine sea waters, white sandy beaches, and one of the best places in the world for excellent air quality, Sanya is forever tropical and the average annual temperature stands at 26 degrees Celsius. The forest coverage rate reaches 69 percent.

The Belt & Road International Tourism Forum on New Business Opportunities was co-hosted by Hong Kong Commercial Newspaper, China Economic Herald, and Global Commercial Newspapers Union. It has been held for four consecutive years.
