Indian media delegation visits Sanya; three tourism products to be highlighted
Following the establishment of the Sanya Tourism (India) Promotion Center on May 31st, 2019, a delegation consisting of media members from mainstream media in India paid a three days and four nights visit in Sanya from June 10th to 14th. On June 13th, a symposium on Sanya tourism promotion in the Indian market was held at MGM Grand Sanya. Guests attending the event included Mr. Tang Sixian, Consulting Director of the Sanya Tourism, Culture, Radio, Television and Sports Bureau; 20 representatives from Sanya tourism enterprises and 11 Indian media members.
The two sides carried out in-depth communication and exchange on topics such as the media promotion strategy of Sanya tourism and an omni-channel marketing campaign for Sanya tourism products in the Indian market. The Indian delegates were impressed by Sanya’s natural environment, tourism facilities and ethnic folklore. They expressed their hope that a direct air route between Sanya and India be launched soon. They also suggested that more entertainment programme should be produced in Sanya by popular brands in the Indian entertainment industry such as Bollywood, in an effort to enhance recognition of Sanya tourism among Indian tourists.
The person in charge of the Sanya Tourism (India) Promotion Center said that the center will soon carry out an omni-channel marketing campaign for Sanya tourism products in the Indian market, which will focus on three major tourism products, namely, MICE tours, wedding and honeymoon tours, and family tours.
Mr. Tang Sixian, Consulting Director of the Sanya Tourism, Culture, Radio, Television and Sports Bureau, said that Sanya will strive to continuously improve the level of tourism supporting services in an effort to enhance the travel experience of Indian tourists in Sanya.
India is one of the largest tourist source markets for overseas travel in the world. In 2018, China received 800,000 Indian tourists. In 2017, the Sanya-Guangzhou-Delhi air route was opened with seven flights per week. Since the beginning of 2019, the Sanya government and tourism enterprise work closely and actively to explore the Indian tourism market and provide rich tourism products for Indian tourists.
