Registration for Hainan Film Festival film contest set for June

The second Hainan Island International Film Festival will take place in Sanya from December 1st to 8th, 2019.

Preparation works of the Second Hainan International Film Festival is pushing forward, it will adapt a new mode of the film festival with the elements of internationalism, academicism and popularity to reach more audience.

Hainan International Film Festival is dedicated to strengthening the exchange and cooperation of international film culture, introducing new directors, new actors and new film works to promote the thriving and vigorous development of the film industry.

One of the highlights for this year’s film festival is the introduction of a competition — the Golden Coconut Awards. The Golden Coconut Awards will be held annually, with the aim of showcasing more excellent works and filmmakers to the public during the festival period.

Golden Coconut Awards entries will be divided into three categories, namely, feature films, documentary films, and short stories. A total of ten individual awards will be presented at the awards ceremony, including the following: Best Film Award, Best Director Award, Jury Award, Best Actor Award, Best Actress Award, Best Screenwriter Award, Best Technology Award, Best Children’s Film Award, Best Documentary Award, and Best Short Film Award.

Participants can enter the contest by registering on the event’s official website at www.hiiff.com.cn. Registration will be open online from midnight on June 1st, 2019, to midnight on August 15th, 2019.
