Sanya welcomes 45 Australian travel operators, tourism promo hosted
On May 27th, 2019, the China (Sanya) – Australia (Sydney & Melbourne) Tourism Promotion Event was held in the Pullman Oceanview Sanya Bay Resort & Spa. The event was hosted by the Sanya Tourism, Culture, Radio, Television and Sports Bureau. Attending guests included 45 travel operators from Australia who will conduct seven-day tourism resource inspection tour in Haikou, Sanya and Baoting, in a bid to discover and develop more tour routes catering to Australian tourists.
During the event, Sanya’s rich and colorful tourism resources, multi ethnic culture, and cozy tropical seaside climate were introduced through video clips and PowerPoint presentation. Hainan’s 30-day visa-free travel entry policy for 59 countries and Sanya’s tourist safety system were highlighted and attracted attention of the attending guests.
Mr. Tang Sixian, Consulting Director of the Sanya Tourism, Culture, Radio, Television and Sports Bureau, said that Australia boats rich coastal tourism resources. Sydney and Melbourne are world-famous tourist cities and Sanya should learn from them during its tourism development course. Sanya is currently striving to build itself into an international tourism consumption center that offers a wide range of tourist products covering sightseeing, recreation and entertainment, holiday vacation, business trips, sports, culture, science and education, health care, and more.
A representative from the Hainan Airlines Australia Office said that he was impressed by the beautiful scenery and landscape in Hainan, as well as the international-level tourism facilities it has to offer. Hainan Airlines will strive to offer the best travel experiences for tourists between Hainan and Australia. Another delegate expressed her wish that more cooperation intentions could be reached with Sanya tourism companies during this tour.

The Haikou-Melbourne direct air route runs twice weekly. Serviced by an Airbus A330 wide-body aircraft, the flights depart Haikou at 6:40 p.m. Beijing Time every Wednesday and Sunday. The return flights leave Melbourne at 8:20 a.m. local time every Monday and Thursday. The flight numbers are HU483 and HU484.
