A Sanya tourism delegation, organized by the Sanya Tourism Culture Radio Television and Sports Bureau, attended the Kazakhstan International Tourism Fair 2019 (KITF) at Atakent International Exhibition Centre, Almaty from April 17th to 19th, 2019. It was the ninth time that Sanya sent delegation to attend KITF.

During the fair, Sanya and its rich tropical tourism resources were highlighted through tourism brochures, promotional videos and presentations by the delegates, which attracted many international tourism purchasers from Russian, Germany, UK, India, and Spain. They expressed their hope that they would soon visit Sanya and seek to develop customized tourism products targeting their home market.

On April 17th, 2019, Chen Guangfa, Deputy Director of the Sanya Tourism Culture Radio Television and Sports Bureau, met with Solovyova Anna, head of Touroperator Kompas; and Sytnik Vladimir, General Manager of SCAT Airlines. They conducted discussion on direct air route and entry procedures at the Sanya Phoenix International Airport.

On the morning of April 18th, 2019, the Sanya delegation visited Today Travel, a local travel agency in Almaty. The company expressed its hope that more customized Sanya tourism products could be launched to cater to tourists of different ages.

The delegation then met with Alchimbayeva Zhanar, Director of the Almaty Tourism Bureau. Alchimbayeva expressed her confidence in Sanya tourism market, and they will soon organize tourism enterprises to visit Hainan and Sanya for possible tourism cooperation.

Kazakhstan is the second largest Russian-speaking tourist source market for Sanya, following Russia. At present, Sanya has opened direct air routes to Almaty and Astana, transporting nearly 20,000 tourists annually between Sanya and Central Asian regions.
