Hainan Airlines launches 2nd route from Haikou to Singapore
Hainan Airlines launched its second route to Singapore (SIN) on 25 September when the airline began operating four weekly flights from its home base in Haikou (HAK) on the island of Hainan.
The flights, which are operated with 164-seat 737-800s, mark the first time a full-service airline operates the route. Hainan Airlines does, however, face competition from the incumbents Jetstar Asia, which also operates four times weekly, and Tiger Airways, which flies the route three times a week.
