Hainan Airlines sees net profit up 20.2% in H1 of 2011
Despite a fall in cargo volumes, China's Hainan Airlines has reported a first-half net profit of CNY669.52 million, up 20.2 per cent compared to the same year-ago period.
Operating revenue jumped 19.6 per cent to CNY11.56 billion and operating expenses rose 18.1 per cent to CNY8.74 billion.
Passenger numbers were up 4.3 per cent to 9.6 million and average load factor was 83.7 per cent, up 2.5 points year-over-year. Cargo traffic volume decreased 2.3 per cent to 132,100 tonnes.
