2 died, many injured in a fatal car crash on Hainan East Ring Highway
On July 25, a collision between a truck and an overloaded tourist van on the East Ring highway killed 2 people and injured many more, reports 0898.net.
The small-sized van was carrying 16 passengers, more than its capacity, on its way to Nanwan Monkey Island, when it collided with a truck on a highway outside Sanya city Monday morning.
The badly damaged van was lying on its side by the road and the truck was lying behind it.
Police said two people died at the scene and many more injured were hospitalized after the crash. A severly injured woman was pronounced dead after she was taken to the hospital in the evening.
The cause of the car accident was yet to be uncovered. However, police revealed that overloaded vehicles, poor safety practices and bad habits is blamed for many serious traffic accidents.
