Hainan Airlines , partly owned by U.S. financier George Soros, suspended trading of it shares on Monday, pending announcement of a share placement deal.

In a filing with the Shanghai Stock Exchange, Hainan Air did not elaborate on its A share placement plan.

The move would pave the way for a possible listing of the rest of other aviation assets of Hainan Air's parent, industry analysts said.

Hainan Air declined to comment.
