Hong Kong Airlines reportedly is in the process of applying for capacity rights to fly to Sydney, Australia later this year.
 
The Hainan Airlines subsidiary wants to use Airbus A330-200s on a three-times-weekly schedule.
 
Hainan Airlines itself introduced a twice-weekly service to Sydney in January and now wants a new non-stop route from Chongqing to Sydney, also this year.
