A half-naked brothel customer fell to his death on Friday in south China's Hainan Province as he tried to flee a police raid, local media reported yesterday.
 
Police of Haikou, the provincial capital, said the 38-year-old man surnamed Lin climbed out of his fourth-floor window and was trying to reach the window of the next room when he slipped and plunged to the ground, Changjiang Daily reported.
 
A 21-year-old woman, a prostitute suspect following him, also fell down but suffered minor injuries.
 
The woman surnamed Xie, told police that she was providing sex service to Lin when they heard police knocking on the door and they scrambled out of the room in panic.
 
Li Jun, a lawyer with Hainan Fangyuan Law Firm, said police bear no responsibility for Lin's death.
 
In their raid on this message saloon building, police caught 21 suspect members of a prostitution ring.
