Hainan has sent a tourism promotion delegation to Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark on Friday with an aim of attracting more tourists to the island, reports xinhuanet.com.

The delegation, headed by Wang Yangjun, the Deputy Secretary General of Hainan Municipal Government, met representatives and experts from Danish tourist sectors and had discussions on a wide range of issues, including ways of enhancing bilateral relations and cooperation in tourism domains.

In the meeting, Mr. Wang introduced the development of Hainan and its tourism industry which is full of strong tropical characteristics. He said that the favorable visa-free policy was specially introduced to Danish tourists as it is part of government’s effort to boost the tourism economy and the number of visitors to the island.

Representatives from the Danish tourist company also said Hainan will have a bright prospect for the development of tourism. He also pointed out that the white beaches, preferable prices and convenient transportation will make Hainan an alluring destination for Danish people.

After its 3-day visit in Copenhagen, the Hainan tourism promotion delegation will continue its trip to Sweden and Finland.
