Manzhouli Airport's spokesman said that the northern China's land port would commence international flights by launching its Russia route, reported Xinhua News.

The spokesperson added that the service would be operated by Hainan Airlines Co. Ltd. and the flights would be scheduled on every Sunday and Thursday, moreover, the one hour flight would arrive and depart from Manzhouli in China and Chita in Russia.

He also said that in 2005, the airport of Manzhouli started its operations, on an area of 212 hectares. Since the begining of 2011 till
now, around 76,000 passengers and 1,100 tones of cargo has passed through the airport.

It is worth noting that that Manzhouli city is located in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and has borders with Russia to the north and sits near Mongolia to the west.
