Hainan to launch real-name bullet train ticket system from June 1

Starting from June 1, 2011, a real-name system for the purchase of bullet train tickets on Hainan East Ring High-speed Railway will be introduced. Passengers who want to by the tickets have to present their valid ID cards, reports hntqb.com.
According to the new rule, all valid passengers need to show at least one form of ID out of 20 kinds of identification certificates specified by the Hainan Railway Bureau. These include ID cards, passports, residence permit for foreigners and foreign entry permits.
To comply with the new rule, automatic ticket vending machines for reading 2nd-generation ID cards will be installed around June 1 at 10 railways stations. Besides, more ticket sales counters will be added at each railway stations for passengers to save time to purchase thickets.
