An artist’s rendition of the new international terminal at Haikou Meilan Airport

Haikou Meilan Airport has recently announced the construction details of the new international terminal, reports hndnews.com.
The project has been in the works since this April and will be completed by the end of this year.
Under the airport plans, the new terminal will have a 2,300-meter-long landscape garden built in the international hall with a low-carbon, green-growth concept aimed at preserving the environment.
Apart from the new terminal, the airport will also start expansion work on the current terminal to 28,000-square-meter and construct other supporting infrastructures for the new terminal site, which will involve a total investment of 850 million yuan.

Upon its completion, the total space of the new international terminal will cover 132,000 square meters, which will greatly improve its handling capacity for the growing passengers in the near future.
