Trade value of imported goods in Hainan hits $US7.41m in 1st 4 mths of 2011
The value of imported goods purchased by duty-free shops in Hainan Province for the first four months of 2011 has soared, following the expansion of duty free shopping to domestic travelers.
The figure for the first four months of this year totaled $7.41 million, exceeding the value for the whole of 2010. The number of yachts that docked at the port also went up by 10 percent.
The shops saw more than 175,000 customers and 35,800 transactions in April.
