The 2018 Marriott Hainan Charity Golf Tournament was held on December 22nd, 2018 at the Sun Valley Golf Resort in Sanya.

The tournament raised RMB 270,686 in donations for the Operation Smile, which will use the funds to supports safe and quality surgeries for 41 children with cleft lips and cleft palates in China.

A total of 24 Marriott properties of 11 brands in Hainan region jointly supported the meaningful charity event. A total of 80 amateur players across the tropical island gathered at the event to support this great cause. The involved properties have designed catering counters with different features to ensure all participants have enjoyed Marriott standard services as well as the game itself during the tournament.

A Charity & Awards Gala Lunch was held at the Sanya Marriott Yalong Bay Resort & Spa following the game.

Mr. Edmund Ko, Chairman of the Marriott International Hainan Business Council said the Marriott International and Operation Smile organization have established the partnership for many years with the aim of providing surgery and related healthcare to needy children and young adults with cleft lips and palates throughout China.

The event was aslo sponsored by several generous corporations including Sun Valley Golf Resort, Hainan Litian Lincoln Store, Intraceuticals, Sanya Holiday International Travel Service, China Continent Insurance and Jiaxing Raofeng Trading Co., Ltd.
