On November 22nd, a promotional conference organized by the Sanya Tourism Development Commission was held in Sanya to announce the kick-off of the 2018 Sanya Tourism Carnival Season.

The air route, operated by IrAero Airlines with a Boeing B777-200ER aircraft, runs once a week.

IrAero Airlines is also planning to intensify and open routes from Moscow to Sanya, Kemerovo to Sanya, and Kazan to Sanya in its autumn and winter flight schedule this year. Those flights will allow more Russian tourists to come to Sanya more frequently and more conveniently.

Sanya now has international air routes connecting 18 Russian-speaking destinations including Moscow, St. Petersburg, Vladivostok, Ulan Ude, Yekaterinburg, Irkutsk, Khabarovsk, Krasno, New Siberia, Chita, Kmerovo, New Kuznek, Barnauer, Tomsk, Blagovishnsk, Astana, and Almaty.

Sanya airport awarded Best Smart Airport in Innovation Service in 2018

Hosted by WRE CIO Alliance – Digital Transformation Office and supported by China Civil Airport Association – the 7th Airport Chief Information and Digital Officer Summit 2018 (ACIO 2018) was held in Sanya on November 29th and 30th, 2018.

The ACIO 2018 event gathered nearly 100 leading airport chief digital and innovation officers and marketing information as well as technology executives to discuss the following topics: smart and digital airports, intelligent and green terminals, smart design for terminal and digital retailing, and more.

Sanya Phoenix International Airport was invited to attend the conference and was awarded the “Best Smart Airport in Innovation Service 2018” award.

The Sanya airport has been continuously promoting the construction of green airport and smart digital airport. In early September 2018, the airport launched a paperless system that aimed to bring more convenience and improve passengers’ experience. The T1 and T2 terminals are equipped with electronic boarding pass verification equipment at 23 security channels, 33 boarding gates and check-in counters. The airport is also equipped with a civil aviation complaint system and a voice inquiry system. In addition, a service hotline —“9612333”— is scheduled to open by the end of this year.
