According to the draft plan for the West Ring High-speed Railway in Hainan during the 12th Five-Year Plan period, the construction of the West Ring Railway is expected to kick off in June of 2011, reports xinhuanet.com.

The West Ring High-speed Railway, starting in the north of Haikou along the west coastline to Sanya, will cover a full length of 344 km and stop at 13 stations. The bullet train running on the railway line is expected to reach a speed of 200 km/h.

During the construction, the West Ring High-speed Railway will span through 6 cities and counties in Hainan including Chengmai, Lingao, Changjiang, Dongang and Ledong and Yangpu Economic Development Zone, which is the central distribution area of modern and energy industries in Hainan Province.

Currently, relevant departments have submitted the railway construction plan for approval and pledged to make massive efforts for the completion of design work at the end of this month to ensure that full construction will beagn in June of this year.
