Sichuan Airlines and the Sanya Airport celebrated the arrival of the airline’s new Airbus A350-900 in Sanya, when the aircraft’s inaugural flight from Chengdu to Sanya landed at the Sanya Phoenix International Airport at 9:27 p.m. on November 17th, 2018.

Sporting a special panda-themed exterior paint design, Sichuan Airline’s Airbus A350-900 is a twin-engine wide-body aircraft featuring a two-class cabin layout that can seat up to 331 passengers. The aircraft boasts passenger-friendly amenities such as personal in-flight entertainment screens, power outlets, KU in-flight Wi-Fi, draft-free ventilation, higher humidity levels, seven different temperature control zones throughout the aircraft, more storage space, panoramic windows, and LED mood-lighting, contributing to higher levels of comfort and well-being for passengers in all classes.

Serving the route from Chengdu to Sanya, the twin-jet wide-body aircraft adds to the existing aircraft fleet used for the route and is expected to bring more domestic tourists to Sanya every week.

In recent years, Sanya has been taking initiatives for aviaiton sector to boost the development of local tourism. The introduction of the A350-900 on the Chengdu-Sanya route demonstrates Sanya’s strong commitment to supporting fast-growing demand in the domestic market.
