Scottsdale Mayor Jim Lane and other city officials will host a group of sports and tourism officials from Hainan Island, China Feb. 14 through 16.

The group is part of a Scottsdale Sister Cities program that has connected the East Valley city with officials from the Chinese city. Scottsdale is a sister city to Haikou, the capitol of Hainan Island, China.

A breakfast will be held on Feb. 15 at The Phoenician, 6000 E. Camelback Road, to welcome the leaders.

Chinese officials expected to visit include executives of the China Sports Tourism Expo Executive Committee and the China Sports and Leisure Cultural Development Association.

In addition to city and Chinese officials, members of Scottsdale-based Sivilian LLC, an investment, management and marketing company, as well as executives from other private firms and economic development agencies are expected to interact with the leaders during their tour.
